Back home after a week vacation at the beach. I did sneak in a little RS here and there (mainly stave runs), but for the most part it was good times, good meals, drinks and friends. Its good to take a little break every now and then.
It’s interesting just how profitable GWD can be if you go with a stable set of friends. Zammy boss seems to be the easiest. We’ve been taking many trips with 6-7 people and can usually stay an hour or two before people have to go or run out of supplies. Trips usually get a split of a Zamorak Spear or a hilt. The last trip I took came in at over 5.8M gross due to getting one of each as well as various other drops. It’s still amusing to see a Dragon Dagger split though. Kril drops 19k gp a lot to a person, but splits a 30k drop between 6 people?
It’s weird to say, but I had reached a point where I had more money than I ever had in the game. I had kept it stashed away for a bit, but that’s doing me no good. I decided to take some out and get a few levels. I looked on forums for an open guilded altar and over a few days got 74-77 Prayer. Antifire potions seem to be the cheapest/best xp to make at my level so I went 72-74 Herblore. I’m only about 50k from 75. For some reason Prayer Potions are up over 15k each now. I made a few of those and they easily sold at max price in GE. Which is ridiculous because Sara Brews require a much higher level, more difficult to obtain second and are about a third of the price.
Also got 80 Slayer, 86 Crafting, 89 Strength (actually leveled this on Kril) and 121cb since my last update. They were all things I was pretty close to and just happened to level around the same time. I’m up to 1997 total levels. The year I graduated high school. Closing in on that 2k mark. If not tonight, I hope to get it tomorrow.

Back to skilling.
After about 4-5 weeks of really training nothing but combat, I hit the wall. I need to give the whip a rest for a little bit and get back to skilling. I've gotten a lot of levels, I love the fact that with slayer you can make some decent cash, you're training 3 skills at one time.
The new Aquatines are pretty cool, sadly its impossible to find them not packed with people. It amazes me just how much melee gear has skyrocketed in the past couple weeks. I've seen people offering 4M for a whip. It kind of tempts me to sell it.
A few friends and I have been doing some daily trips to the Zamorak general. It's pretty easy once you get used to it and we usually stay for 1-2 hours per trip with about 50 kills. It turns out to be decent cash. We split some Zammy Spear drops which are roughly 350k/person and a couple hilt drops that are about 5M/person. Plus its just fun killing something so big with such relative ease.
One of the things I' really like to try soon is the Corporeal Beast. However, with a lot of people who know what they're doing. It's not something I'd like to wander into with just a handful of friends not knowing what to expect. I'll have to do some research and see what its about.
With the charms I've been stocking up on, I decided to put the money to good use and got 70-73 Summoning. I used all my green and crimson charges. I need to get some Obsidian Charms to use up my blues. Tzhaar are ok to kill. They're kind of annoying, but the cape drops are pretty awesome.
Actually raising Summoning is an incredibly boring process. I love collecting charms, I never not pick one up. I like using familiars and seeing all the different ones with separate abilities. I just hate running to the obelisk and back and forth and back. I just wish there was a more entertaining way to raise xp.
Getting closer to the 2000 levels mark. I'm in the 1970s now, looking at the end of the hippies, into disco, soon the bowery will explode with Blondie, the Talking Heads and The Ramones. Thinking of levels as years still amuses me after all this time.

Catching Up
This was a pretty decent weekend as far as playing goes. Not much progress as far as levels are concerned, though. Figured I’d use some of those Gold Charms that are just sitting in my bank taunting me and got up to 69 Summoning. There’s only a handful of things that really interest me about Summoning. I want the Hydra for the instant tree regrowth. I like the Beasts of Burden, the energy boost from Terrorbirds, the healing from Bunyips (also, I think I was the only one really excited about this because the Bunyip myths from down under have always been really interesting to me), but not that much more. I’m sure I’m under-utilizing this and maybe I’ll get more into it, but whenever I level and get something new, I’m not that excited about it. I do like that charms aren’t tradeable though. I need motivation to train cb every now and then.
Sunday morning clan trip was to Zamorak GWD. I’m getting more and more comfortable down at God Wars boss rooms. Zammy is probably the one that bothers me the least. We had 6, think we got about 25 or so kills. There’s really no danger unless you’re tanking or the boss switches and all of a sudden, you’re tanking unexpectedly. I tanked a few times (not all on purpose) and as long as you got brews and anti-poison, you’re fine. We split a Zamorakian Spear drop which was pretty cool. Roughly 190k each. With the other drops (coins, Wine of Zamorak noted, etc) I probably cleared100-200k after the cost of the trip. I’m used to losing money on these, which is fine because its fun, so it was kind of cool to get an expensive drop. With maybe 3 more, I can picture being able to stay down there for a long time. I’d love to see that coinshare pop up stating you just split a hilt.
Jax & TCA were nice enough to extend an invitation to a skiller’s only Stealing Creation game. I had always wanted to play this game, but my natural avoidance to most things PvP has kept me away. It was a pretty fun game, I liked that it seems to incorporate almost all skills. It took a few runs, but eventually I started to get the hang of it. Not sure how I’d like it with cb though. My main goals were pretty simple. 1) Check it out. 2) New music. 3) Get a pick for quick xp when hunting stars. I was kind of bummed when I did a star later on in the night that even though I had my SC pick equipped, I used the Inferno Adze because it was in my inventory from WC. Note to self, bank Adze before stars.
Duradel seems to love giving me Black Dragons and Suqahs. Suqahs are really annoying being that they don’t really drop anything. I came back from my last task of about 60 of them with one uncut emerald. Sure, I left about 5 Guams on the ground, but they didn’t even give one charm. I also used my last Astral Teletab so it looks like I’ll be heading back to the Great Orb Project soon. I should also restock Nature Teletabs as well. Both are incredibly useful when star hunting.
I’ve also been doing a lot of herb runs recently. 4 Snapdragon seeds are about 150k and I usually harvest around 30 Snaps selling them for about 250k. Not a bad profit for 5 mins of work and an hour of waiting by training something else. It’s actually helped break up my playing in a bit of a refreshing way. I usually check on a star, do a herb run, train a skill for an hour, herb run, do another skill for an hour, with hitting the stars in between. I also did a good amount of bank cleaning, freed up about 20 spaces as well as made some cash. I’ve tucked away a pretty good amount of gp, not sure what to spend it on though. Yeah it’d be nice to splurge on some Bandos Tassets, but I think I can get some good levels out of it. I’m just figuring out the cost effective way of doing it. Then after that, if I start focusing more on cb again, I’ll buy something nice.
For the past month, I’ve been at a client and they pump in easy listening. If I hear Mariah Carey, Coldplay or the Dawson’s Creek song again, I’m going to lose it. Then I’ll be put away some place like the Angry Room from A Soul’s Bane.

End of the Month
There’s a new quest out today. I seem to have the requirements for it. It looks pretty interesting. I’m a little surprised All Fired Up isn’t a requirement. If Varrock’s being attacked from the Wildy and the beacons aren’t used, then what’s the point of them? I kind of love all things zombie related so I’m looking forward to this.
I found myself being indecisive again yesterday. I got all the levels I seemed to be close to, including 75 Range, 73 Agility and 69 Mining. The main reason I want 70 Mining is because of the stars now. Although mining my own addy will be nice. I won’t have to rely on Avansies just to work on my Smithing. My main default activity was always Fishing. If I couldn’t decide what to do, I’d Fish until something else came up. As much as I love moving up in the ranks by adding xp after my 99, I just think that all that time needs to be spent working towards levels in other skills. Sure I could always use extra food, but I have a decent supply still, and cooking is just so boring. I think I might be the only one who’s stayed at 94+ Cooking for over 3 months now and not gotten a cape. I just hate doing it.
Took an impromptu clan trip to the Zammy boss in Godwars yesterday. We had roughly 8 people so it was relatively safe. One person did die towards the end then timed his re-entry into the boss’s room poorly only to be killed again. Such are the risks I guess. I accidentally ended up tanking it one of the times, that was a little stressful, but I lived to see its demise. No great drops, but that’s ok. We were able to make about 15 kills before having to tele out. One more thing done that I’ve never tried before and new music is always fun. I couldn’t get over how dark it is in that room though, its like fighting with the lights off.
Just today and tomorrow remain for Agility and I think I’m done. I got from level 60-73 this month and am thrilled that I don’t have to walk the entire way around Tav Dungeon anymore. My original goal was 80 but other things kept getting in the way. It’s a shame Agility doesn’t get you any cash. I had to stop and make some money for the daily errands. I’ve been stockpiling my staves and I am THRILLED to be able to assemble/alch them on Wednesday. All that Crafting and Magic experience just waiting to be raked in. That’ll give me a good amount of cash too, maybe I’ll splurge on something. Maybe buy a bunch of bars for Smithing or what not.
I’ve been neglecting Slayer, I should really train that as well. Hopefully this week is a little more calm. Last week was kind of hectic between going to baseball games and weddings. This one seems a little more settled down. No more sneaking out of a wedding reception so I can see the Phillies clinch the National League East crown! However they play when I’m at work. I’m waiting to hear about NLDS tickets and already have my NLCS tickets purchased. Can’t wait! Go fightins!
